Laksa
Rice noodles in a broth built from coconut milk, shrimp paste, and chili, loaded with prawns and bean sprouts, a soup that ranges from curry-rich to sour depending on region.
Where it comes from
Laksa is generally traced to Peranakan cooking, blending Chinese noodles with Malay spice pastes, and the dish split into distinct regional styles, curry laksa and asam laksa among them, each built around different souring or spicing.
What cooks argue about
Cooks argue over the broth: coconut milk simmered in early for a richer, integrated curry, or stirred in late to keep the flavor bright and keep it from splitting under heat.
Nobody has published a laksa recipe yet. The page stays out of search until one exists, which is the rule for every thin page here.
