What happens on October 21

  • The Mealime app shuts down, and personal data is deleted with it.
  • There is no export file for recipes, meal plans or shopping lists.
  • Mealime points people to Meals Hub inside the apps of its parent grocery company.

Move a recipe in three steps

    Find the recipe link

    Open the recipe on mealime.com, or use Share in the Mealime app, and copy the link.

    Give it to Recipe Grab

    Share the link to Recipe Grab, or open Recipe Grab and paste it. Recipe Grab reads the recipe page.

    It is yours now

    Ingredients, amounts, steps, photo and time are saved in your library, and stay there after Mealime is gone.

Do it before October 21. Nobody knows yet whether Mealime recipe pages stay online after the app closes. A recipe already saved in Recipe Grab does not depend on them.

Then keep cooking the way you did

  • Recipes from anywhere. The same share works for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and recipe sites, so new finds land next to your Mealime ones.
  • Cook mode. One step at a time in big type, with timers.
  • Shopping list. Add a recipe and its ingredients go on your list.

Questions

Do I need my Mealime password?

No. Recipe Grab never asks for it. You paste the link to a recipe, and Recipe Grab reads the public recipe page.

Can I move all my Mealime favorites at once?

Not in one step. Mealime has no export file, so each recipe comes over by its link. It takes a few seconds per recipe.

Will the links still work after October 21?

Mealime has not said. Recipes you save in Recipe Grab before then stay in your library either way.

Is Recipe Grab free?

Recipe Grab is free to download. It works on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Android is coming soon.
