7 ingredients
8 steps
What you need
- 250 g (9 oz) camembert, a whole wheel, ideally in a wooden box
- 1 clove garlic, cut into thin slivers
- 4 sprigs fresh thyme
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp honey
- black pepper, freshly ground, to taste
- crusty bread, sliced, for serving
Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
Heat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
- 2
Unwrap the camembert and set it back in the bottom of its wooden box. If there is no box, use a small ovenproof dish that fits it snugly.
- 3
Sit the box on a baking sheet so any leaks are caught.
- 4
Cut a shallow crosshatch into the top rind with a sharp knife, going just through the rind.
- 5
Push the garlic slivers and small pieces of thyme into the cuts.
- 6
Drizzle with the olive oil and season with black pepper.
- 7
Bake until the centre feels runny when pressed, 15-20 min. Do not overbake or it turns rubbery.
- 8
Drizzle the honey over the top and serve straight away with the bread for dipping.
