What you need
- 1 baguette, about 250 g (9 oz)

- 2 tbsp heavy cream, 1 for the filling, 1 for the sauce

- 1 1/2 tbsp sugar, for the sauce
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 pinch salt
Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
Heat the oven to 200 °C (400 °F). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
- 2
Cut the baguette into 4 pieces of equal length. Slice each piece into 4 thick segments, cutting only three-quarters of the way down so the segments stay joined at the base.
- 3
Beat the cream cheese with 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp cream until smooth and spreadable.
- 4
Spoon the cream cheese into a zip bag and snip off one corner.
- 5
Melt the butter in a small pan over low heat. Take it off the heat and stir in the garlic, 1.5 tbsp sugar, the remaining 1 tbsp cream, the parsley and the salt.
- 6
Let the sauce cool for 1 min so it does not scramble the egg, then whisk in the egg.
- 7
Pipe the cream cheese into every cut in the bread.
- 8
Spoon the garlic sauce over the top and into the gaps until each piece is well coated. Set the pieces on the baking sheet.
- 9
Bake for 12-15 min, until the sauce is set and the top is golden.
- 10
Rest for 2 min, then serve warm.
