Restated from the original video
- 1
Lay the bacon in a cold, large frying pan and set it over medium heat.
- 2
Cook, turning now and then, until the bacon is browned and crisp but not brittle, 8-10 min. Drain on paper towels.
- 3
While the bacon cooks, slice the tomato into rounds about 1 cm (3/8 in) thick and season them with salt and pepper.
- 4
Toast the bread until golden on both sides.
- 5
Spread the mayonnaise over one side of each slice of toast.
- 6
On two of the slices, layer the lettuce, then the tomato, then the bacon, breaking the strips in half to fit.
- 7
Close with the other two slices, mayonnaise side down, and press lightly.
- 8
Cut each sandwich in half on the diagonal and serve at once.
