8 ingredients
9 steps
What you need
- 6 slices (6 strips) streaky bacon
- 6 slices white sandwich bread
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 150 g (5 oz) cooked turkey breast, thinly sliced, or poached chicken breast

- 4 leaves iceberg lettuce, trimmed to the size of the bread
- salt and black pepper, to taste
- 8 cocktail sticks
Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
Fry the bacon in a dry frying pan over medium heat, turning once, until crisp, 6-8 min. Drain on paper towels.
- 2
Check that the turkey is fully cooked through; leftover roast turkey or sliced roast breast both work.
- 3
Toast the bread until light golden on both sides.
- 4
Spread one side of every slice of toast thinly with the mayonnaise.
- 5
Lay 2 slices of toast mayonnaise side up and cover each with the turkey and then the tomato. Season the tomato with salt and black pepper.
- 6
Put a second slice of toast on each stack, mayonnaise side up, and top with the lettuce and bacon.
- 7
Close each sandwich with a last slice of toast, mayonnaise side down, and press gently.
- 8
Push 4 cocktail sticks into each sandwich, one near each corner, so the layers hold.
- 9
Cut each sandwich corner to corner both ways into 4 triangles and serve right away, while the toast is warm. Remove the sticks as you eat.
