Homemade Peanut, Cranberry and Pretzel Trail Mix
7 ingredients
7 steps
What you need
- 150 g (1 cup) peanuts, roasted, unsalted or lightly salted
- 100 g (3/4 cup) almonds, whole, roasted
- 100 g (1 1/2 cups) mini pretzels, small twists or sticks
- 120 g (1 cup) dried cranberries
- 100 g (2/3 cup) raisins
- 100 g (2/3 cup) chocolate chips, semi-sweet
- 1 pinch sea salt, only if the peanuts are unsalted
Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
If the peanuts or almonds were roasted at home, let them cool completely. Warm ones melt the chocolate.
- 2
Put the peanuts and almonds in a large bowl.
- 3
Break the pretzels into bite-size pieces if they are larger than a thumbnail, then add them to the bowl.
- 4
Add the cranberries and raisins. Pull apart any raisins stuck in clumps.
- 5
Add the chocolate chips and the salt, if using.
- 6
Stir with a large spoon for about 30 seconds, until the small pieces are spread evenly through the peanuts and almonds.
- 7
Pack into jars or zip bags, or portion into 10 small bags for a grab-and-go snack. Keeps in an airtight container in a cool cupboard for about 1 month.
