7 ingredients
6 steps
What you need
- 3 tbsp finely ground dark-roast coffee, or Thai coffee mix
- 180 ml (3/4 cup) water, just off the boil
- 2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tsp granulated sugar, adjust to taste
- 1 pinch salt
- ice cubes, plenty, for serving
- 3 tbsp evaporated milk, cold, to taste
Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
Stir the coffee into the hot water in a jug and leave it to steep for 5 min.
- 2
Meanwhile, put the condensed milk, sugar and salt in a tall glass.
- 3
Strain the coffee through a paper filter or a fine cloth into the glass.
- 4
Stir until the condensed milk and sugar have dissolved. The coffee should taste a little too strong and too sweet, because the ice will water it down.
- 5
Fill a second tall glass to the top with ice and pour the sweetened coffee over it.
- 6
Pour the evaporated milk slowly over the surface so it sinks in swirls. Stir it through before drinking, and add more evaporated milk if you like it creamier.
