5 ingredients
8 steps
What you need
- 4 large oranges, sweet, seedless if possible

- 2 tsp orange blossom water
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon, plus a little extra to finish
- 30 g (1 oz) blanched almonds, slivered or roughly chopped
Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
Toast the almonds in a dry frying pan over medium heat, stirring, until light golden and fragrant, 3-4 min. Tip them onto a plate to cool.
- 2
Slice the top and bottom off each orange. Stand it upright and cut away the peel and white pith in strips, following the curve of each orange.
- 3
Cut the oranges crosswise into rounds 5 mm (1/4 in) thick, picking out any seeds.
- 4
Fan the rounds in overlapping circles on a wide plate and pour over any juice left on the board.
- 5
Dust the powdered sugar over the oranges through a fine sieve.
- 6
Sprinkle on the orange blossom water, then the cinnamon.
- 7
Cover and chill for at least 30 min so the sugar draws out the juice.
- 8
Scatter the almonds over the oranges just before serving, with a last pinch of cinnamon.
