Japanese Whisky Highball with Lemon Peel
4 ingredients
5 steps
What you need
- 60 ml (2 oz) Japanese whisky, Scotch also works
- 180 ml (6 oz) club soda, very cold
- 8 ice cubes, large and hard
- 1 piece lemon peel, a wide strip, pith trimmed thin
Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
Fill a tall glass to the top with ice cubes.
- 2
Pour in the whisky and stir for about 10 seconds, until the glass is frosty.
- 3
Tilt the glass and pour the club soda slowly down the inside wall so the bubbles stay lively.
- 4
Lift the ice once from the bottom with a spoon, one gentle turn, and stop. More stirring flattens the drink.
- 5
Twist the lemon peel over the glass to release its aroma, wipe it around the rim, then drop it in. Drink right away.
