Restated from the original video
- 1
Halve the onion and slice it into very thin half rings.
- 2
Put the onion in a bowl with a pinch of the salt. Rub it with your fingers for 1 min, then leave for 5 min to soften.
- 3
Cut the tomatoes in half through the stem, then slice into thin half-moons about 3 mm thick.
- 4
Chop the cilantro finely.
- 5
Add the tomatoes and cilantro to the onion. Sprinkle with the rest of the salt and the pepper.
- 6
Toss gently with your hands, so the slices keep their shape.
- 7
Leave for 5-10 min, until the tomatoes release their juice. Serve cold or at room temperature with the juice.
