4 ingredients
6 steps
What you need
- 60 ml (2 oz) London dry gin, stored in the freezer
- 10 ml (1/3 oz) dry vermouth, kept in the fridge
- 3 green olives, pitted, on a pick; or use a strip of lemon peel
- ice cubes, for stirring
Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
Fill a cocktail glass with ice and cold water to chill it while the drink is mixed.
- 2
Fill a mixing glass two thirds full with ice cubes.
- 3
Pour in the vermouth, then the gin.
- 4
Stir smoothly with a long spoon, 30-40 turns, until the outside of the glass is frosted. Stirring keeps the drink clear and silky, shaking would cloud it.
- 5
Empty the chilled glass and strain the martini into it.
- 6
Spear the olives on a pick and rest it in the glass. Serve immediately.
