French Cafe au Lait in a Big Cup
3 ingredients
5 steps
What you need
- 150 ml (2/3 cup) strong brewed coffee, from a moka pot, French press or filter
- 150 ml (2/3 cup) whole milk
- 1 tsp sugar, optional
Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
Rinse a wide cup or bowl with hot water to warm it, then empty it.
- 2
Brew the coffee double-strength, so it stays bold once the milk goes in.
- 3
Heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until it steams and tiny bubbles form at the edge, 2-3 min. Do not let it boil.
- 4
Pour the coffee and the hot milk into the cup at the same time, from opposite sides, in equal parts.
- 5
Stir in the sugar if using. Drink hot.
