5 ingredients
7 steps
What you need
- 70 g (3/4 cup) coffee beans, ground coarsely
- 750 ml (3 cups) cold filtered water, for brewing
- 750 ml (3 cups) cold water, for diluting
- ice cubes, for serving
- 360 ml (1 1/2 cups) whole milk, optional, for serving
Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
Grind the coffee beans coarsely, about as for a French press. A finer grind makes a stronger, cloudier brew.
- 2
Put the coffee in a large jar or French press, pour in the filtered water and stir so all the grounds are wet.
- 3
Cover and leave in the fridge for at least 12 h, or up to a full day for a stronger brew.
- 4
Strain through a fine sieve lined with cheesecloth or a paper filter into a clean jar. If using a French press, press the plunger down first.
- 5
Seal the concentrate and keep it chilled for up to 1 week.
- 6
To serve, fill each glass with ice and add equal parts concentrate and cold water, adjusting to taste.
- 7
Top with a splash of milk if you like and stir.
