5 ingredients
7 steps
What you need
- 500 ml (2 cups) water, freshly boiled
- 4 black tea bags, or 2 tbsp strong loose black tea
- 3 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
- 3 tbsp evaporated milk
- sugar, optional, to taste
Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
Pour the water over the tea in a heatproof jug, cover and steep until very dark and strong, 5-8 min.
- 2
Remove the bags or strain out the leaves.
- 3
Stir in the condensed milk and evaporated milk, then taste and add sugar if wanted.
- 4
Have a second heatproof jug or large mug ready, ideally one with a lip for clean pouring.
- 5
Pour the hot milk tea from one jug into the other in a steady stream, raising the pouring jug higher as you go. Take care, as the tea is hot and can splash.
- 6
Pour back and forth 6-10 times, until a thick layer of froth sits on top.
- 7
Divide between two glasses and drink while hot.
