6 ingredients
8 steps
What you need
- 200 g (1 2/3 cups) all-purpose flour, plus extra for rolling
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 100 ml (scant 1/2 cup) whole milk, or water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil, for the dough
- butter or honey, for serving
Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
Mix the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
- 2
Pour in the milk and oil and work everything into a smooth, soft dough that no longer sticks to your hands.
- 3
Cover the dough with a cloth and leave it to rest for 10 min.
- 4
Divide it into 6 pieces and roll each one out on a floured board into a thin round, about as thin as a thin pizza base.
- 5
Heat a dry heavy frying pan or griddle over medium heat.
- 6
Cook the flatbreads one or two at a time until puffed in places and browned in spots, 2-3 min per side.
- 7
Stack them under a clean cloth as they come out of the pan so they stay soft.
- 8
Serve warm with butter or honey, or alongside soup.
