Estonian Kama with Buttermilk and Berries
5 ingredients
5 steps
What you need
- 250 ml (1 cup) buttermilk, or kefir, sour milk or fresh milk
- 1 tbsp kama flour, roasted barley, rye, oat and pea flour mix
- 1 tsp granulated sugar, optional
- 1 pinch salt, instead of sugar for a savoury bowl
- 1 handful blueberries, or other berries, optional
Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
Pour the buttermilk into a glass or bowl.
- 2
Sprinkle the kama over the top and stir straight away so it does not form lumps.
- 3
Sweeten with the sugar, or season with salt instead for a savoury version.
- 4
Leave it for 1-2 min so the flour swells a little. Add more kama for a thicker, porridge-like texture.
- 5
Top with the blueberries and eat at once, or drink it from the glass.
