5 ingredients
7 steps
What you need
- 1.5 l (6 cups) water, divided
- 6 black tea bags, or 2 tbsp loose black tea
- 70 g (1/3 cup) granulated sugar, or to taste
- 1 lemon, sliced
- fresh mint, optional, for serving
Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
Heat 750 ml (3 cups) of the water until boiling, then move the pan off the burner.
- 2
Add the tea and leave it to steep for 5-7 min. Longer steeping makes it bitter.
- 3
Lift out the bags or strain off the leaves.
- 4
Stir in the sugar while the tea is hot until it dissolves.
- 5
Pour into a large jug and add the rest of the water, cold.
- 6
Chill in the fridge until cold, about 1 hour.
- 7
Fill glasses with ice, pour in the tea and add a slice of lemon and a sprig of mint to each.
