Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
Heat a grill or ridged grill pan to medium-high and brush the grates with the oil.
- 2
Cut a few shallow diagonal slashes into each of the frankfurters so they do not split.
- 3
Grill the frankfurters, turning every minute or so, until browned in spots and hot to the centre, 71 °C (160 °F), 6-8 min.
- 4
Open the buns and lay them cut side down on the cooler edge of the grill until lightly toasted, about 1 min.
- 5
Set a frankfurter in each bun.
- 6
Run a line of mustard along each one, then add ketchup, a spoonful of relish and a sprinkle of onion.
- 7
Serve right away while the buns are still warm.
