What you need

  • 800 g chicken breast
  • 0.5 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil spray
  • 4 clove garlic
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1200 g potatoes
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 large cucumber
  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • 0.5 medium red onion
  • 2 tbsp parsley

Method

Restated from the original video

  1. 1

Combine the chicken, yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Stir thoroughly and allow to marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes. If skewers are on hand, thread the chicken onto them.

  2. 2

Cut the potatoes into small cubes, then season them with oregano, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and olive oil spray. Cook in an air fryer at 400°F for 20 minutes, shaking midway, and then finish by adding lemon juice.

  3. 3

Cook the chicken in an air fryer at 400°F for 12 minutes, or until it is completely cooked through and slightly browned on the exterior.

  4. 4

Chop the cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, and parsley, then place them into a bowl with lemon juice and a small amount of salt. Mix thoroughly.

  5. 5

Grate the cucumber for the tzatziki and remove as much moisture as possible by pressing it with paper towels or a clean kitchen cloth. Transfer it to a bowl with Greek yogurt, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper, then stir until smooth.

  6. 6

Distribute the potatoes, chicken, salad, and tzatziki equally among 4 bowls and present for serving.

About souvlaki

Cubes of marinated pork skewered and grilled over hot coals until charred at the edges, usually served with pita, lemon and tzatziki.

What cooks argue about

Marinating time is the argument: long enough in lemon, oil and oregano to season the meat, but too long and the acid starts breaking the surface down into mush instead of staying firm.
