- 2 tbsp sugar

Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
Whisk the milk, yeast and sugar in a large bowl and leave for 5 min until foamy.
- 2
Add the egg, flour and salt. Stir for 2-3 min into a thick, sticky batter without lumps.
- 3
Cover the bowl and leave in a warm place until doubled and bubbly, 45-60 min.
- 4
Peel and core the apples and cut them into 1 cm (1/2 in) cubes. Fold them into the risen batter.
- 5
Heat 3 tbsp of the oil in a large frying pan over medium-low heat.
- 6
Dip a spoon in water so the batter will not stick, then drop heaped spoonfuls into the pan, leaving space between them. Flatten each slightly to about 7 cm (3 in) wide.
- 7
Fry until deep golden underneath, about 3 min. Turn and fry the other side for 3 min, until the apple is soft when pierced.
- 8
Drain on paper towels. Add more oil as needed and fry the rest of the batter.
- 9
Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
