What you need

- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, medium, finely chopped
- 200 g (7 oz) ground beef

- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
Method
Restated from the original video
- 1
Cut the baguette in half crosswise. Slice each piece open lengthwise, leaving one side attached so it opens flat like a book.
- 2
Heat 1 tbsp of the oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Cook the onion until soft, 2-3 min.
- 3
Add the beef, salt and black pepper. Cook, breaking up the meat, until browned and cooked through with no pink left, 5-6 min.
- 4
Tip the beef and onion into a bowl and let cool for 2 min.
- 5
Beat the eggs and stir them into the beef mixture.
- 6
Wipe the pan and heat half of the remaining oil over medium heat. Pour in half the egg and beef mixture and spread it into a rectangle a little larger than the bread.
- 7
Lay one piece of baguette, cut sides down, on the egg and press firmly with a spatula. Cook until the egg is set and sticks to the bread, 2-3 min.
- 8
Flip and cook until the crust is crisp and golden, 1-2 min. Slide onto a board and repeat with the rest of the oil and mixture.
- 9
Keep each piece egg side up. Drizzle with the ketchup and chili sauce, cut into 4-5 slices and serve hot.
